Today was Baby Joshua's last visit! We can't believe how much he has grown and changed over the past few months. Thanks for joining us!
In maths we are learning about 2D shapes so for some fun we made 2D Shape Monsters! Neasa bought us a crystal experiment - we had to construct the mini tree; create a mixture with some special salts and water; add the water to the base of the tree and wait. The next day there was a full tree of crystals! We couldn't believe it!
We undertook an experiment to dissolve different liquids in water. Firstly we added food colouring to our water samples - it mixed very well! Next we added cooking oil - it was very interesting! The oil moved around but settled at the top of the water sample. We learned that oil is heavier than water and will always sit on the top of it. Finally we added washing up liquid - it floated all the way down to the bottom of the water sample in bubble and stayed there! We had three layers then of oil, water and washing up liquid! We examined the samples the next day and they had turned into one creamy mixture at the top and the food colouring water underneath. Experiment: Examining results the next day: |
