We are very excited about a new project we are working on! Penpals! We are going to make friends with a class in Co. Monaghan that also has seven children. We have each written a letter to one member of that class and they are writing to us. We told our penpals a little about ourselves and asked them a question. We can't wait to receive our letters from our new penpals in the post. We might even chat to them on a videochat like skype after both classes get their letters. Getting our bodies ready to learn with different types of walking - on tiptoe, big steps, slow-mo, walking lunges, clapping walking lunges etc. Dear Parents,
Our Winter Show is coming up very soon! On Friday 7th December the Birch, Hazel & Lime classes will be performing together and are very busy learning our song. However, we need some help from home for our costumes - we are asking all children to bring in a white t-shirt to wear during the show. Any white tshirt from home will do; belonging to themselves or older siblings/parents/friends (in fact a little bigger than their own size would work even better!). Tshirts with details/logos/decorations can be turned inside out so there is no need to purchase a new tshirt. Please write your child's name/initials on their tshirt so we can return them with ease. Thank you! Birch, Hazel & Lime Class Teachers On Friday December 7th we are having our annual “Winter Fair Fundraiser” from 1pm to 3pm in our School Hall. This will be an action packed, fun family day out.
There will be plenty of children’s entertainment including a children’s disco, face painting, party games, photo booth, jumble sale, art exhibition & much, much more! We are also expecting a very special visitor! Santa will be dropping by with presents for the boys and girls. There is no entrance fee. This event is open to the entire school community, so bring along your friends, neighbours and relatives!! If you would like to volunteer to help on the day, please fill out this form! We appreciate all help given! https://goo.gl/AszD47 Also - see the school website for further details. This afternoon we combined our work on pronouns (he and she) with our class novel 'The Twits' when we created character profiles of Mr and Mrs Twit. We used lots of adjectives to write sentences..... he is ____ and she is ____ and created cool character profile posters. We might even add to them as we continue to read the story and find out more about the characters! We have been learning about dance in P.E. - we have floated in space bubbles; moved different body parts using magic dance dust and learned the body jive. Then today we created our own dances - we got into huddles and planned our dances. Afterwards we performed them for the rest of the class. Well done everyone. Parents/Guardians,
